VPN and Wireless network implementation project in the Chicago area. Installing, configuring and connecting Cisco routers and HP hardware to T-Mobile T1 networks at various Starbucks Coffee stores.

Responsibilities: Troubleshooting WAN Wireless networks. Installation and configuration of CISCO routers, and switching technology upgrades. Also installed and configured CISCO Pix and Checkpoint FW1 4.1 security firewall software at various locations. Most of the networks were IP networking. I configured IPSEC tunnels for routers and firewalls between (VPNs) and remote locations due to dependence on wireless networks... Environments: Complex Enterprise networks.

Which included 25 Windows NT, Netware and Unix Servers, various network controllers, 2000+ end users, 2000+ networked CD drives, 75+-networked printers, centralized backup system and public Access. Responsibilities also included developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining major network projects in the Libraries. Developing written proposals and presentations on the analysis of networking problems and solutions, researching present and future communication technologies and preparing written reports. Evaluating new products and systems and recommending selection. Increased the number of Servers. Upgraded the Windows NT servers to Windows 2000-Advanced server in a mixed mode. Installed, configured Active Directory Services (ADS) and Windows 2000 clustering services. Implemented SMS and utilized MSI for the rollout of Windows 2000 and XP professional to desktops. Was responsible for the troubleshooting and fixing of all LAN, software and application problems. Planned and implemented a successful migration of the Library management systems from a UNIX Client\Server to Sun Solaris platform. Library management systems support involved using various networks protocols e g TCP/IP, SLIP, PPP, SNMP, SNA, maintained a Telnet server for student remote email access and access to some remote resources, HTTP and FTP for the Library website and support. Support of all CISCO routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. I also initiated a wireless networks project. Environment: Complex Enterprise networks migrated to Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
